Club Selects Project Hope for 2012
Kiwanis One Day Project

April 21, 2012 is a special day for the Kiwanis family in Stamford and around the world. It is the one day per year when all Clubs, around the globe, are asked to complete a large scale service project that fills a need in their community. In 2009 the Club painted Palermo House for ARI, in 2010 we renovated the library at the Boys and Girls Club, in 2012 we renovated the kitchen at the Boys and Girls Club.
This year we have selected Project Hope, a Domus outreach program intended to reduce youth violence by helping connect disenfranchised or disengaged youth and others to positive activities. While we are currently working out the details, we hope to be able to paint their community room, computer lab, library and Board room, enhance their kitchen, expand their selection of books in their library and provide them with 12 refurbished computers and 4 laser printers.
More details to follow and some before and after pictures too!
Club Announces 2012 Golf Fundraiser
Please consider getting involved in the Club's 2012 Golf Fundraiser on June 7th at Sterling Farms. We are looking for golfers and event sponsors. Proceeds benefit the Stamford and Westhill High School Marching Bands, the Stamford Kiwanis Scholarship Trust Fund and the Kindergarten Literacy Fund which will provide books to all entering Kindergarten Students in Stamford Public Schools again this September.
